It all began in September 2000 when we were asked if we would offer hospitality to a singer/songwriter Carolyn Vargas, who was coming from Hawaii to complete the recording of her second album. We thought quite simply that we would be giving her bed and breakfast, but from the moment she arrived it was obvious that this was a divine appointment. We talked and shared our experiences and it was at that moment that God spoke to me and sowed the seed in my heart and the vision for the Morningsong album was birthed. During my 19 years as a Christian, I have been involved in worship in one way or another for a good part of that time, and I have sung in a number of places around the world, however I had never considered the prospect of recording an album myself. It was certainly not on my agenda.

The possibility of a music scholarship as I left school didn't materialise, much to my disappointment, but God gave me the promise, as a young Christian, that He would restore the years of the locusts and more recently that He would bring me full circle, something I didn't understand at the time but gradually I have begun to see the fulfillment of these promises along with many others.

As I started to explore all the aspects of recording an album I realised I didn't have any idea of the process involved, even less how I was going to put a collection of songs together. I said to the Lord 'I don't write songs Lord', but then I guess He knew that anyway. God began to speak to me through His word and quickened Psalm 5 v 3 to me. As I began to meditate on it, I asked God to confirm my thoughts. That night I wrote my first song ever, it was, of course, 'Morningsong', God had given me words and music. I was amazed.

Over the next few months, I wrote several other songs, always during the early hours of the morning! There were often weeks without any inspiration at all and at times I thought I would never be able to complete it but each time as I sought God and gave Him my fears, He would give me another song. The Lord has led me every step of the way, He has opened doors, and brought me divine appointments with people who have helped me through the various processes. The Album was completed and was launched in May 2002. This was the start of an amazing journey. I know that God has made so much more available to me as I have begun to understand His Heart, the Father-Heart of God.
